THINK NUTRITION
SYMPTOMS
Symptoms can be ‘nagging’ subtle problems that have been going on for so long that you have got used to them - tiredness, poor concentration, anxiety, bloating, IBS, constipation, irritability, skin issues or finding it hard to lose weight.
Symptoms are a way for your body to tell you that it is out of balance and there is always a reason or root cause, whether it be a toxin, stress, a virus, emotional stress, a lack of nutrients, and so on. By addressing these underlying contributing factors, the body can be helped back into balance or homeostasis.
HOW CAN A NUTRITIONIST HELP YOU ?
Symptoms can be a range of 'nagging' concerns that have been going on either for a long time (so long that you may have got used to them!) or they may have just suddenly come on out of nowhere. This can cause worry and stress if you can not get to the bottom of what's causing them. Symptoms can range from executive stress including tiredness, fatigue, overwhelm, exhaustion and burnout, to gut issues, including bloating, diarrhoea and/or constipation and IBS, or poor concentration, anxiety and depression. You may be suffering from skin concerns such as eczema, psoriasis or acne which may be a a result of a deeper issue and similarly, headaches can be a result of a number of underlying factors. Menopause is a collective of symptoms that we are increasingly being asked to help with and this can also include help with menopause and weight loss, hot flushes, anxiety, insomnia, fatigue and loss of libido. This can also apply to men and is known as the 'andropause' and which we are also frequently asked for help on, especially low libido and help with building lean muscle. Weight Loss is a symptom, usually that something is not in balance in the body and may present as cravings, low blood sugar, high cortisol - self sabotage or emotional eating may need to be addressed too. We also help many people with weight gain, especially elderly parents or anyone who has been chronically ill.
THE ROOT CAUSE OF YOUR SYMPTOMS
Symptoms are a way for your body to tell you that it is out of balance and there is usually a reason or root cause contributing to your symptoms. By addressing these underlying factors, the body can be helped back into balance, or homeostasis.
At Think Nutrition, for over 20 years, we have helped thousands of people with their symptoms by looking at the root causes that may be contributing to them. As a professional and celebrity Nutritionist, Hilary can help to distinguish these factors and directly help to rebalance, boost, detoxify and strengthen your body. By working with the root causes, she is helping to lay the foundations for optimum nutrition. Optimum Nutrition is where all your body systems are working together in a balanced way. When this is achieved, your symptoms can start to subside and you are left feeling healthier, revitalised, clear headed.
SYMPTOMS CAN BECOME CHRONIC
If the root cause of symptoms is not addressed, the symptoms can continue to persist and may even worsen. Dry skin may become eczema, tension may turn into migraines, tiredness into fatigue or exhaustion or burnout which is when the immune system becomes lowered, irritability into anxiety, poor sleep into insomnia, bloating, constipation and wind into food intolerances, and perhaps, pain, diarrhoea, or even, IBS, and so on.
The next stage is a chronic problem, such as IBS becoming IBD and may involve chronic inflammation, such as colitis or diverticulitis. Other chronic states include chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia, both of which are an umbrella term, usually involving several underlying factors.

If left, anxiety can become chronic and lead to panic attacks, eating disorders, mental & emotional health issues, as well as causing weight issues as well as affecting the immune system. It may also manifest as depression.
