TESTS

HORMONAL TESTS

In this 21st Century, with increased stress, deadlines, pollution, the use of wrapping on food and the addition of pesticides in to the food chain, both the male and the female hormones (present in both males and females) are shifting to potentially toxic levels or becoming depleted. Some symptoms of this can include weight gain around the belly or ‘beer belly’, feeling hot or hot flushes, low bone density, losing hair, trouble focusing, headaches, exhaustion, low sperm count, high PSI levels, irregular menstrual cycles, fibroids, polycystic ovaries, PCO’s, endometriosis as well as disease states such as osteoporosis or hormone related cancers such as prostate cancer or breast cancer.

The way your hormones work are directly linked to the role of stress on the body and for this reason, stress plays an integral part in the way the body's hormones function, especially with male and female hormones. For this reason all of our hormone tests (apart from the One Day Oestradiol / Progesterone Test) include a test for the adrenal hormones, Cortisol and DHEA or the Adrenal Stress Profile.

To Order Your Test:

A Nutrition Consultation is recommended before ordering any of these tests to ensure that you order the appropriate test for your needs. Please note that when you click on the ORDER A TEST button, you will go directly through to the Genova Diagnostics website to order your test where you will need our practitioner code inorder to proceed. You will find our practitioner code on your original Nutrition Consultation or Wellbeing Coaching Booking Confirmation email. Under Additional Resources, please ensure that you read the Collection Instructions carefully to make sure that you are not taking any medications that may interfere with the test and prevent you from taking it. You can also download a Sample Report and see the Turnaround Times.

With the exception of Food Intolerance Tests, a Nutrition Consultation is recommended before ordering any tests.

COMPLETE HORMONESTM

Urine Specimen

CODE: END23

This test assesses the pattern of male and female hormones including your oestrogen and progesterone metabolites, androgens, DHEA, cortisol and all the key metabolic pathways including 5α-reductase activity and methylation. This test provides actionable information about the impact hormone levels can have in both men and women and is ideal if you are looking for a proactive approach to your health.

MALE HORMONE PLUSTM

Saliva Specimen

CODE: END17

This comprehensive Male Hormone test assesses testosterone levels and melatonin levels and includes the Adrenal Stress Profile. Low testosterone levels can lead to the andropause and symptoms of low energy, depression, reduced motivation, difficulty concentrating, insomnia or poor sleep patterns, increased body fat or ‘beer belly’, burnout, low libido and performance issues.

RHYTHM PLUSTM

CODE: END11

The Rhythm Plus™ female hormone test is a comprehensive assessment of oestradiol, progesterone, and testosterone spanning 28 days and also includes the Adrenal Stress Profile and a Melatonin Profile. This can help to identify the root causes of disorders such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS), PCO’s, fibroids, infertility, perimenopause and menstrual irregularities.

ONE DAY HORMONE CHECKTM

Saliva Specimen

CODE: END41

This is a 24-hr salivary hormone test for assessing key hormones in both men and women. Specimens are collected and examined for levels of oestradiol, oestrone, oestriol, progesterone, the progesterone/oestradiol ratio (P/E2), testosterone, cortisol, DHEA, and melatonin.

ONE DAY PROGESTERONE/OESTRADIOL

Saliva Specimen

CODE: END12

This is a test to measure the female hormones of oestradiol and progesterone over one day. Ideally it is tested on Day 21 of your cycle when your progesterone is at peak levels (or anytime if you are menopausal). For symptoms such as PMS, PCO’s, perimenopause, hot flushes, mood, weight, anxiety or irritability.
